Hashimoto Contemporary is pleased to announce our new gallery location within the Minnesota Street Project, opening Saturday March 4th, 2023.
After nine wonderful years in the Tenderloin neighborhood, we are bidding farewell to our very first, original location on Sutter Street. It has been a pleasure over the past decade to be a part of the Tenderloin community and we are grateful to have been a part of the neighborhood's legacy. Moving forward, you can now visit us across town inside a beautiful new space located within the Minnesota Street Project arts complex.
Founded in 2016 by art collectors Debra and Andy Rappaport, the Minnesota Street Project houses over a dozen contemporary art galleries, over fifty artist studios, an art services and storage facility, and a fine dining restaurant spread across 35,000 square feet. It is located in the heart of the DoReMi (Dogpatch, Potrero Hill, Mission) District where it has been joined by nearby institutions including the Institute of Contemporary Art San Francisco and the Museum of Craft and Design. It is also home to the California Black Voices Project and Grants for Arts Equity, two cornerstone programs of the not-for-profit Minnesota Street Project Foundation.
To celebrate this exciting new chapter in our gallery history, we have brought together some of our favorite artists working in or with deep ties to the greater Bay Area. Represented gallery regulars such as Anna Valdez and Joel Daniel Phillips join new artists to the gallery program such as Devra Fox and Gina Contreras for an eclectic group exhibition celebrating the diversity of the San Francisco arts community.
