"Plus One" Group Exhibition
Hashimoto Contemporary is pleased to present Plus One, a group exhibition featuring a selection of artists from our program, alongside fresh faces new to the gallery. For this exhibition, the gallery asked regularly exhibiting artists to participate by inviting a favorite contemporary as their "plus one". NEW YORK CITY— Hashimoto Contemporary is pleased to present Plus One, a group exhibition featuring a selection of artists from our program, alongside fresh faces new to the gallery. For this exhibition, the gallery asked regularly exhibiting artists to participate by inviting a favorite contemporary as their "plus one". The result is a compelling dialogue between artist friends and admirers, furthering Hashimoto Contemporary's mission to support our artists while providing a platform for others and strengthening the overall artist community.
Both inspired by the patterns of nature, Sally Jerome’s Extinction Burst captures the resilience of plant life in New York City through bold color and texture while Sarah Smiley’s Rebirth depicts the plant life cycle as a quiet moment of reverence. Scott Albrecht and Damion Silver both play with color, texture and the abstract form resulting in bodies of work that speak to one another yet still feel distinctly separate.
In a new series of collaborative works, Carlos Rodriguez shows off his playful style of figures in works on paper recreating Gustavo Garcia-Villa’s intimate photographs. With over 20 artists working across various mediums, Plus One has a little something for everyone.
