Meet The Artists: Future Fair 2025

Hashimoto Contemporary is excited to announce we will be showing new work from five artists at Future Fair 2025. As we prepare, we wanted to share more about these artists, and allow you to get to know both them and their work better.

Carlos Rodriguez

Rodriguez (b. 1980, Mexico City ) is based in Mexico City, where his artistic journey unfolds. Initially trained in graphic design at the Universidad de San Luis Potosí, he transitioned from a career in advertising as an Illustrator and art director to a formal painter.

Exploring the realms of sexual desire, gender, and identity, Rodriguez employs drawings, paintings, and ceramics that pay homage to the male form. Drawing inspiration from classical painting, naïve art, and elements of adult entertainment, his work captures the essence of men immersed in natural expressions of play and fantasy.

Over the past four years, Rodriguez has showcased his art on the global stage, exhibiting in renowned galleries across New York, Paris, Los Angeles, Sao Paulo, Hong Kong, and Dubai.

Sabrina Bockler

Sabrina Bockler (1987) is an American artist living and working in Brooklyn, New York. In 2011, Bockler earned a Bachelors in Fine Arts degree from Parsons New School of Design.

Bockler’s work references themes of domestic identity and the value (or lack thereof) in what is historically considered women’s work. Her carefully detailed surrealist paintings are stylized with formal Golden Era Dutch sensibilities, influenced by artists such as Balthasar van der Ast and Rachel Ruysch, as well as artists who belonged to the New Objectivity movement, such as Franz Sedlacek and Aenne Biermann. Bockler is interested in dichotomy between traditional tropes and the uncanny. Creating decadent scenes of abundance with an off-kilter allure that begs for a closer look – Everything is not quite as it seems.

Scott Albrecht was born in 1983 in New Brunswick, NJ, and currently lives in Brooklyn, NY. In 2003 he received a degree in graphic design from the Art Institute of Philadelphia. Perhaps best known for his wood relief pieces and murals, Scott also works in a variety of other mediums including steel, collage, and pen & ink. While his work is largely informed by typography, its aim is to reconsider the relationship between message and viewer. In his works, letterforms are abstracted and reconstructed creating a space for the viewer to more intentionally engage with a message through alternate means of form, color, sentiment, exploration, and introspection in the hope of creating a deeper personal connection.

Scott's work has been exhibited both domestically and internationally. He has also collaborated with a number of clients including Google, Spotify, the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), Rag & Bone, Vans, PayPal & Ballantine's.

Paul Gagner

 @paulgagner   | |   paulgagner.com

Paul Gagner is painter and sculptor who depicts the humorous and preposterous in otherwise ordinary objects and situations. Gagner frequently employs self-portraiture as a vehicle to search for a deeper understanding of our foibles. His works are absurd self-contained moments that also hint at the limits of the painting and sculpture’s surface.

He holds a B.F.A from the School of Visual Arts and an M.F.A. from the City University of New York at Brooklyn College. Gagner’s works have been exhibited nationally and internationally. He’s been featured in HyperallergicArt21 magazine, New American Paintings, Baltimore City Paper, and featured on the cover and interviewed for the print magazine, Art Maze Magazine
