"Doggone Delightful" Group Exhibition

SAN FRANCISCO—Hashimoto Contemporary is pleased to present Doggone Delightful, a group exhibition celebrating the bonds between humans and our canine companions. Featuring over two dozen artists, each offering their own unique celebration of our four legged friends. 

In her acrylic painting Sebastian, Angela Burson portrays a luxuriously groomed small dog nestled in the arms of a mysterious tuxedoed figure, elevating the canine to the ultimate symbol of sophistication and status. On a playful note, San Francisco-based artist James Eddy joyfully reimagines a traditional coming-of-age celebration at a lively dance party filled with elegantly dressed pups in La Quinceañera, blending folk-art charm and humor into a whimsical canine fiesta. Meanwhile, Abigail Goldman has crafted a meticulous three dimensional miniature sculpture titled Les caniches gastronomes, where fanciful poodles feast on a human corpse as nearby onlookers casually observe, blending elements of dark humor with surreal tension.

Pedro Trueba’s Descuidando (pictured) captures an everyday moment, as a mischievous pup sneaks a snack from the floor while in Gentle, Adrian Kay Wong celebrates the quiet intimacy and trust shared between human and companion. Ranging from the heartfelt to the absurd to the menacing, the exhibition explores the deep and complex relationship with our species’ best friends.

Join us for the opening of Doggone Delightful on Saturday, January 10th with a reception from 5pm - 7pm. In conjunction with the opening, we will be hosting a dog adoption event with the Bay Area-based dog rescue, Beyond Rescue, during the reception. Many of the artists will be in attendance. The exhibition will run through Saturday, January 31st.
