Overview
Install of 'Summer Group Show' 2015

Hashimoto Contemporary is pleased to present our first Summer Group Show exhibition, featuring a dynamic and diverse roster of represented artists, friends, and family. This month’s show brings together painters, sculptors, muralists, installation, and textile artists to celebrate both the creatives who have helped shape the programming at Hashimoto Contemporary, as well as the new faces whom we are delighted to welcome to the gallery.

Rather than link a common thread throughout each artist’s practice, this month’s exhibit allows for independent growth and creative liberty, showcasing this multi-disciplinary group of contemporary makers at the forefront of the modern art world. Our represented artists have regularly provided a refreshing mix of genres and mediums in the past, with exploration into portraiture and the human form, iconography and symbology, location and environment. Summer Group Show will feature work from returning artists like painters Jessica Hess, Erik Jones and Brett Amory alongside pieces from fan favorites such as Joel Daniel Phillips, Crystal Wagner, and 1010.

In addition to these familiar creatives, Summer Group Show will also present artists who are new to the gallery, yet display a wide array of mediums and practices; ranging from street artists such as Nychos, who creates illustrative work on massive walls, to innovative sculpture artists like Drew Leshko, who makes highly detailed miniatures of common, utilitarian objects. Additionally, large-form textile artist Erin M. Riley will be showing with us for the first time, alongside ceramic-sculptor Derek Weisberg and designer and muralist Aaron De La Cruz. These burgeoning artists will expand the breadth of style, medium and exploration of work, and we are elated to exhibit their creations.

Summer Group Show is a combination of both local and international artists who have shown work all over the world, spanning galleries in the U.S and the U.K, to Greece, Mexico and Canada, to walls in Palestine, Singapore and Australia, and we are thrilled to be assembling them together under one roof. This show is definitely not to be missed, as each artist has produced new work, which highlights their current portfolio and showcases the strength and diversity of the contemporary art scene.

Featured Artists: Aaron De La Cruz, Brett Amory, Casey Gray, Crystal Wagner, Derek Weisberg, Drew Leshko, Erin M. Riley, Erik Jones, GATS, Joel Daniel Phillips, Jessica Hess, John Wentz, Lucien Shapiro, Nychos, Ravi Zupa, Scott Scheidly, Shawn Huckins, Tracey Snelling, and 1010.

Join us for our Summer Group Show, opening on Thursday, July 2nd, with an opening night reception from 6pm - 10pm. The exhibition will be on view through Saturday, July 25th.
